Need a second opinion, purchasing carbs

I am working on my first project, ever, a 71 CB500F. I was in the market for a set of carburetors and found these # 290854572460 (search on ebay). I was wondering if they were worth the price? Perhaps someone could give a second opinion, or put me on the right track? Thanks in advance.

Its always a bit of a lottery buying carbs on ebay unless you can get to see and inspect them. In this case he is selling as spares/repair which could mean they are not complete or he could just be covering his arse. You could be lucky and they will be fine just need a clean up, or they may need a full rebuild which could cost you $50 a carb.
Does you bike have no carbs on it? If it does could be rebuilding your own is more cost effective, unless like I say you get lucky.

Myself I wouldn't want to pay more that $50 for carbs I know nothing about. Then again you can buy them to have a look and return them if they are useless but that would cost you $55 for the shipping and restock fees.
