Need cb360 questions answered.

Been Around the Block
Hopefully this is the proper place for these questions. Will a cb 350 rear sprocket fit the cb360? Will an o-ring chain fit properly on a 530 set-up. I had seen a gear ratio chart that someone posted somewhere on here but I can't find it. Would anyone happen to know the thread or a link showing it? Im still looking for a non o- ring gold chain if someone has an idea of where I can find one. Thanks for all the help.

I'm pretty certain they are exactly the same sprocket
You may get an 'O' ring chain to fit but it will need to have 'thin' side plates.
The 'standard' o-ring chains from DID, et.al. have real thick side plates so the chain ends up pretty wide and can rub through oil seal housing behind output sprocket.
Personally, I would grind front sprocket to fit a 520 chain and get new 520 rear sprocket made
'Thinning' sprocket on teeth will give more surface area on splines so you won't need to make spacers

Thanks, Im trying to stick with a 530 set up. I cant seem to find a quality chain in gold for a 530 non o-ring. If I have to, I will go 520. Your saying a 520 o-ring should fit no problem? Where would I need to remove metal on the front sprocket? Sides( actually narrowing the teeth). Between teeth? Thank you for your help.

You thin sprocket from one side only, it's hardened so will probably have to be ground
Quick and dirty way to narrow front sprocket, bike in gear without drive chain, angle grinder on side of sprocket, grind side of teeth plus reduce diameter so chain fits all the way down. You'll need Dremel or similar to de-burr and chamfer teeth after grinding (I hope that makes sense?)
When thinned down, remove sprocket and flip so 'outside' is still in same plane and you get extra 1/16" clearance on the inside
It's quite a lot of work but doesn't really cost much except time
Rear sprocket isn't hardened so it can be machined a little easier

Im not going through all of that. I will just order a 520 front sprocket and sell my other one. lol

Got a link to 520 sprocket?
I'm interested in seeing if it has a 'step' one side to maintain thickness

I don't, the guys at Sprocket specialists said they could do one up. I have since changed my mind and Im looking for a 36T CB350 rear. They look near the same as what Im looking for and Im planning on powder coating it so hopefully I can find something in good condition.

Although a 520 chain is great, lighter and everything. A o/x ring 530 chain works perfectly in my cl360, same with trek97.
