New 2.5" Gauges — Mounting critical?

I purchased a 2.5" Speedo and Tach from Dime and they are cool that they have a nice little mounting bracket — My question: Are the gauges that sensitive to road vibration that I MUST mount them with some sort of rubber or rubber grommet? If I don't have rubber will it be a big deal. Just asking, because if the rubber IS critical in protecting the gauges I will have to fabricate another piece they can mount to with a rubber grommet.

I have heard of them failing due to vibration, so if you have the chance to rubber mount them it's probably a good idea

I just took some rubber vacuum tubing and cut off a small slice to make an o-ring type thing for each post.

I cut a wine cork in 1/4s and put a hole in the middle, they are fine
