Hi all! Just introducing myself. My names Nick. Just got myself a '72 CB450 3 months ago. In the slow process of cafe-ing it and making it mine. Been riding bikes since I was a kid. First bike was a '74 CT-70. This spring I bought a '74 Vespa from California and went through the interesting process of importing a bike into Canada. My want for a cafe began when I saw a Ducati 250 cafe-ed by a friend in our scooter club. Anyways.. Here's a picture of my CB from a few weeks ago. The bike is in pieces between my garage and basement at the moment..

Welcome aboard Nick. Good looking bike to start with and any guy with a HSR Tattoo is A O K in my book!

Thanks! The bike originally was from Saskatchewan, so it required an OPI.. The riser bushings were shot and you could move the bars back and forth like crazy! So before it was even ridden I put a set of Tarozzi Low-Rise clipons on. OPI'ed it, and rode it a couple times. The carbs are off right now and I'm rebuilding them. I also took the petcock apart as I had fuel starvation on the right side. It suffers the common 2nd gear CB450 issue where it pops out. I'm going to take a look at the detent roller this winter. Probably going to keep the fenders on as I ride in all sorts of weather. Possibly this winter I may have a go at making a fiberglass seat myself. I'll start a project thread once I get enough pictures/content.

Hey Nick - I sometimes travel to Edmonton for work. Next time I'm there we'll have to see if there's a meet-up of the scooter club going on.

Tell your friend if he ever wants to sell his Duc... :D

There seems to be a couple of us noobs popping up from Edmonton. (Though I currently live in Leduc) Keep us updated on your build!
