New guy/CB100 starter project.

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the site/cafe scene altogether. I'm from the western NY/Buffalo area. I've had nothing but sportbikes for the past 10 years but the novelty of having "cookie cutter" bikes wore off and I had been want to make something myself. I was given this 72 CB100 last fall in some pretty rough shape so I figured I would use it as some build practice ;D.

Nothing new or innovative here but I think its turning out better than I hoped for my first attempt, and on a budget.

Feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

Stripped it down and sandblasted it from the wheels up.

Found some puny 27mm clip-ons, shaved the tank, and added a Roc City tail.

Had an aluminum loop made to mount the tail to and hide the electronics.

Re-purposed the stock bar mounts.

Wrapped the ugly beat up muffler.

Drilled holes for an array of 6volt LED's to be used as my parking/brake/turn sig's. (yet to get them flashing correctly, stay tuned)

My Father is an upholsterer so it should have a nice new seat very soon.

Currently undecided on whether rear-sets will be worth the hassle on this thing....

Like it! I used to have a CG125, great little bike, totally reliable. Yours looks great considering it was done on a budget. Well done! Have a look at early honda CBR 125 rear sets, they could look tidy.

Dude, this came together fast...

I love the clean look. The matte on gloss looks great. Rattle canned frame?

So I never fully finished this project. Life kinda got in the way...where it stands now - runs, but needs tuning (has a new carb but I lack carb knowledge), bought a universal rearset kit and brackets to mount them to but they will need fabrication that is beyond my means. Anyone interested in a 90% finished bike? Make me an offer!
