It is what it is...
Hey all!

Well, I'm new to this site and new to building bikes. 15 Years ago I rebuilt my '68 Chevelle but had help from a friend. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm great with tools but I'm teachable... heh My project I call the 'The Slowest Cafe Racer Ever' Project aka (SCRE) since the bike is a 1978 Honda CB400A. When my wife and I purchased it for $200 in Craigslist, we really didn't know what we were getting into, let alone an Automatic, and after we figured it out, we both kinda lost interest in the project. Recently a friend of mine offered a corner of his shop to park the bike and I can finally start working on the bike! YAY! It's nice to have something to work on again, forgot how that felt. My main motorcycle is a 2006 Ducati Monster S2R800 Dark and my wife had an '01 M750 Dark that she sold (took one for the team) to help us buy our house (I sold my car). Have always wanted a CB and love the cafe racer style (my wife's next bike will be a Ducati Sport Classic)... :)

So anyway, check my thread on the Cafe Racer page for updates on the SCRE and don't hesitate to drop me a line with pointers, etc... could use all the help I can get... :)

Have a great weekend!

Welcome to DTT!

Slowest bike ever? I beg to differ! A 400 would toast me in the straight away.

400 Automatic? It has something like 22 HP in all it's raw fury! :P Guess I'll have to get it built then we'll have a race... lol

And ty for the welcome! :)

Welcome to the site. From Vancouver, WA here. I'm curious to see how it turns out. I almost named my 360 "Turtle" so we may be a good race.

Sounds like a fun project. BTW, here is a pic of one of my other toys to tempt your wife. ;)
