New guy from NOLA

Hello all. My name is Chris and I live in New Orleans. Well, just outside actually, in Metairie.
I got a '72 Yamaha DS7 that I cafe'd. I got it a a non running lump about 5 years ago. I started playing with it last Feb. and finished it around Oct.

This is what I started with...

Correct. The fuel tank is from a '76 RD400. I had to fabricate mounts to fit it to the frame. The side panel and oil tank are from a '75 RD350. The rearsets are from an '05 R6, also custom fab'ed to fit. The seat is an eBay item that I trimmed out to mount the taillight. The taillight is fitted with LED internals. It looks stock until it's turned on. When I hit the brakes, it'll make you squint. It's hard to see in those pics, but I also custom fitted an '07 GSXR steering dampner on the left side. It's also hard to see in those pics, but the body is "wrapped" in Carbon Fiber.

Amazing bike and welcome to the board! You oughta go check in with the "Dirty South" board. There's a role call page there! Plus we got our own patches! ;D
Is that actual cf or is it done with a paint trick like laying cloth and spraying?

I just posted on the Dirty South forum ;D

It's not real CF, nor is it paint. It's a vinyl "wrap". Like you see on commercial/business vehicles, it's full body decal. A buddy of mine owns a Graphics company and did the wrap for me. I wanted a "High Tech" meets "Old School" look. It will fool you until you get real close.

I thought it was vinyle, too clean to be anything else plus I saw you called it wrap! Nice bike! Welcome aboard, glad to add to the Dirty South crew!
