Hey DTT'ers!

I thought it time to introduce myself and relate a bit of my lifestory blah blah blah... (It's a 69 triumph if that's what you wanted to know LOL!) I'm a cannuck living in Owen Sound, Ontario. Currently studying as a welder fabricator here full time. I'm real green when it comes to motorcycles but not to spinning a wrench. I've owned several old hot rods in various states of completion, and my daily driver is a 1956 chevy belair that I built up from a rusty shell. It took several years and alot of stubborness to turn that heap to the the street. Test drive on that one took me from Toronto area to Medicine Hat,AB, where we blew a fuel line at the top of a 5 level parking garage and got to shoot down the ramp like a kids hotwheel toy out into traffic with no power brakes or steering and then try to swing into a parking spot and ebrake before hitting another car! That night we stayed at the belair motel beside the Trans Canada waiting for the NAPA to open in the morning. I took it as a sign and we ended up staying in the Hat for the next 6 months and met some real awesome folks. Best test drive ever...
Last winter I volunteered as a bicycle mechanic for a non profit group in Thunder Bay (bicycles for humanity) that ships thousands of bicycles to Africa to help those in dire need as well as some people in the local comunity who don't have the funds to buy a bike for their kids or whatever... I love vintage bikes... 10 speeds, fixies, coasters, roadsters, muscle bikes... and I built up alot of them that winter for fundraising.

Anyway, the wheels in my head were turning this year and I figured I'd combine the two interests and build up a vintage motorbike. I picked up a crusty old triumph recently and the process has begun... I'm super stoked about it and am looking forward to learning from those on this board!... and hopefully contributing something!

cheers!
