New guy (well, kid, actually)

Hey, I love the site, after some people on some other non-motorcycle related forum brought up cafe racers, I've been hooked.

I'm only 16, but I'm just looking at getting something small to start out, then eventually making my way up to something better. I love to tinker with shit, since I can remember I've always been messing with bicycles (another hobby of mine) which is the primary reason why I'm interested in cafe racers more than anything else. Both due to the two wheeled factor, and the whole "I love to tinker with shit" deal.

Just wanted to say hello.

Welcome!
The guys here are full of helpful information, ive been a member for a little over a month now and everyone here is willing to help the less knowledgeable. Lots of helpful write ups and pictures. Bikes are also a hobby of mine, I mainly stick to my fixed gear motobecane but anything flies as long as it has wheels and the potential to go fast.

Bigger does not equal better when it comes to these bikes - a 350 is plenty big, and heck, a 250 is still big enough. They race those suckers.

agreed, mine is only a 200. love it though, specially if you are into bicycles, a smaller motorcycle is a lot easier to handle, much like a motorized bicycle. my friends cb160 is even easier to ride. however if you plan on investing some money into it and you plan on keeping it for a while i would say go a little bigger than a 160. just my 2cents

Yeah, Right now I'm looking at a 71 Yamaha CS3, it doesn't run but apparently it's just not getting spark. That's the smallest I've found so far. I would like to find something smaller, but it's just not happening. So I think I'm going to wait it out a few more weeks and see if I can find something else.

After looking through 6 pages of the "Big Arse Projects" I have a pretty good idea of what I'd like to do now as well.
