That's a pretty good looking bike to start with. What are you thinking of doing?

Lets see, hammer the tank, put on a solo tail, chop the front fender, put on a set of Tomiselli bars, I might even go as far as putting on a set of CV carbs. (I might have a line on a cheap set, usually they are rediculously expensive from what I understand)
I stored the thing away for the winter, but I'm going to paint up the tank, fenders, and side panels.

Great start for a project. Interestingly it has Tommaselli bars on it already - not clubman style, but I'm pretty sure I see the 'elli' on those bars.
I'd start by getting it running, and then the bars/seat/fenders. The tank is great as-is. Loco Leon has a 750F (SuperSport) that's pretty much done up.

Those are superbike bars...sweet! Actually, if you have the tank clearance, which you prolly dont looking it down the line from the headlight, you could flip those upside down for a lower aspect...they may clear, if not s'all good! Ive seen plenty cafe bikes with superbike bars on em...they're great for when ya have a bad back but still like a sportier bar...

Oh man, that pipe is rediculously loud as is... there is no baffles in it. I think it is a wolf full exhaust.
Header wrap is on my list, as are bar end mirrors, and some smaller signals.
That tank isn't nearly as nice as it looks in the picture. It has some good rust spotting on the outside, but the inside is spotless. I've got access to the identical tank, -never held gas, pristine condition, but I wouldn't want to hammer something so nice, so I might as well just paint the ugly one.
I noticed those were Tomiselli bars, but I'd like a set of clubman bars instead. Even the el-cheap-o e-bay bars would be fine. Those bars are nice, but they don't have the look I want out of it. I might just sell them off with my spares.
I got another set of mag rims for it, carbs, progressive fork springs, new battery, new chain and sprockets, set of pads; all it really needs to be cert is a new set of tires... I picked it up off a buddy of mine who has two other CB750's; one is his trackbike, the other is a parts bike, a CB900, (one for parts as well), 72 Kawi 350 (I think that's what it was?), 92' Ducati 900ss, and a garage full of spares.
His wife wanted some of his bikes gone, and I wanted a cheap project.
My other bike is going to be a track bike next season, so the CB can be my streetbike. Cheap to run, and loads of fun

Yeah those sidecovers are notorious for cracking. They were likely well on their way before you touched them. You have to be very very careful when putting them on or taking them off the bike.
Invest in some new rubber grommets for the mounts. Soft rubber helps, and they're cheap. You should be able to order them directly from a Honda motorcycle dealer (if you can find one).

I'm trying to find out what possible tire sizes I can use with the stock rims, or what I could do about new rims to accept a newer tire size.
My front rim is a 1.85x19", and the rear is a 2.15x18"
Seems my options so far are Bridgestone spitfire S11, 90/90/19, and a 110/90/18 rear... I'm used to a 190 or 180 tire... a 110 rear is like driving on pizza cutters!
Over 500lbs of CB on a set of pizza cutters...
Do I have any options?

welcome to the forum!!.
Nice to see another cb750f guy on board.
As Tintin had mentioned, the sidecovers for the f models series bikes, (cb550f & cb750f), were notoriously weak since Honda used a different type of plastic compound. They always brake especially at the tabs.

As for your bike, its great starting point.
My F project is practically all done. The only thing left do is to mount my gixxer rearsets & 2nd front brake caliper & steel braided lines.

Im also changing my front sprocket from a 17 tooth to an 18 tooth so that I can get more highway gearing!
