'81 GS 1100 Project
I am working on an '81 Suzuki GS 1100 cafe bike. Might be a little big for a cafe project, but I like it and I got a great deal on it. I bought it from the original owner with 28.5k miles. He bought it new in Albemarle in 81. I have a ton of parts on the way for it. Tarozzi rearsets and fork brace, vortext clip-ons, RocCity Dunstall Style Seat, Galfer steel lines, cafe headlight, small chrome tach & speedo, Progressive Suspension Shocks, and a few other odds and ends to finish it all up after a custom paint. I located outside of Salisbury, NC near China Grove.

Is anybody else working on a GS1100? If so I would like to hear what you have done.

Welcome to the site! GS's are as good as any as long as you are into it. I can't think of any other GS1100 build off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's another. Any other pics?

At this point I have only disassembled a bunch of stock stuff. I have installed the Tarozzi Fork brace, the Progressive Shocks, and the Vortex clip-ons. The brackets on the first set of Tarozzi rear sets didn't fit so I am swapping them for a set with a different mounting bracket. Still waiting for the rest of the parts to come in. I'm trying to post some new pics but can't quite figure it out. Any help, maybe I'll figure it out in a minute.

Picture of my GS with Progressive Shocks, Tarozzi Fork Brace, and Vortex Clip-ons. And a lot of disconnected wiring.

Looks good so far! Most people on here (including myself) use photobucket. I'd say it's easier, but it's the only way I've ever done it.

Start up a build thread now that you can post pics!

Thanks. Bike looks good. I am going to use a Dunstall style seat too. Like your bike.

actually the seat is made from the existing seat cowl that houses the tail light on our gs's. i just attatched it to a wood base, then upholstered it and drilled some holes for the plate holder/lights.
