well I take that back, i'm probably no where near your town.

my name is mike and i'm a senior in mechanical engineering at miss. state university. soon to be in grad school... I stumbled upon this site one day while reading a thread on the jockeyjournal, and so far it is everything i needed and wanted for bike info

but enough rambling, here's my 1979 honda cb750 limited edition i just picked up last weekend for a very nice price...

looked like a goldwing wannabe when i picked it up...

and here it is 30mins after i unloaded it and stripped all the extras off

Well, indeed you are not even close to Toronto.. ;D
Welcome to the forum though...
Any plans for that DOHC?

Cheers

yes yes lots of plans...

picking up some clubman bars and new grips i ordered from a local shop, and i have to put a new chain on it this weekend

soon i'll be taking a hammer to the tank and making a new seat too... probably do something with the exhaust soon too

WOW... you arent wasting any time.... Be sure to put up pics as it progresses...
Ive only seen one other person on the board turn a DOHC in to a cafe racer!!

Looks like a nice starting point.

If that was actually 30 mins then I must say you are a madman, lol.

At that rate you should be done in a week. ;D

Seriously, cool bike and good luck.
Start up a thread in the projects page and help others like you who they get a great deal on an old bike.

well i'm supposed to go by and pick up my new bars, grips, and chain after lunch today. so i'll put that stuff on this evening.

i might start working on building my exhaust setup this weekend... or maybe something else

Welcome mlc216, really nice bike. It's amazing what 30 minutes and removing a few things can do to the look of a bike, makes a huge difference. Best of luck.
