hey hows it goin i just recently got a 1971 cb 750 and plan on rebuilding it and learing alot from this site.. this is how it looked the day i got it

have alot planned for it black frame with dark green tank and seat and plan on hiding all the electricals the oil tank and the battery and this is how

Welcome! Some starting point. Not sure there's enough 'oomph' to get the oil up to that tank - is that a pic of someone else's bike who's done it already?
 
Ya that was done by steel bent customs i have seen the tank back there a few times and have heard it works im gunna shoot them an email and see if they had to make any modifications.
 
i just talked to the guys from steel bent customs (the guys where i got that last pic from) and they said they had no problems with the oil tank that high and didnt have to modify the oil system besides new lines for the new height
 
The hight probably isnt an oiling issue, it handling issue though, but im sure you are going to say "its not a race bike"

Do not run fitting or lines that are even just a little smaller then the stock oil lines. Yes you will see old school chopper custom tanks and all that jazz that had smaller lines or more importantly fittings, but what you dont see on the interwebs is all the bikes that have bad cam bearings due to smaller lines.
A CB750 makes enough oil pressure to do all kinds of things.

Also its a crime to paint over that amazing 70s coolness.

Did you get it running 100% factory before you tore it down?
 
I had a 74 750 with a viking on a sleigh being pulled by a pack of polar bears It was crazy good airbrush work too. I just couldn't roll with it though lol.
 
Didnt get it running before i broke it down to much was wrong with the carbs needed to be rebuilt the gqs tank had rust on the inside and the gqs tank was to different paint jobs jthe paint is flaking off and the oil lines were pretty bad still had oil in the engine though
