new member 1981 Yamaha XJ 650

Hi fellas,
Just had a midlife crisis, on to my third bike in 5 months, first was a 1997 CB250 to learn on, then 2006 Suzuki GS500 to ride around while Im rebuilding a 1981 XJ 650 into a cafe racer.
Why you ask???? Why not I say, never been a stickler for conformity.
I just fell in love with it, matt black with clubmans,,also blown headgasket so got it cheap. Still flies on only 3 cylinders though.
Love to post pictures if someone can explain in words of one sylable how to do so, Ive found the "insert image" icon, but all it does is put in "[img]", reasonably computer profficient but this sites got me stumped.

the easiest way is to post to photo bucket or flicker but if you would like to put the pics dirrectly on the page. go to additional options down below this on the left. when you click browse it will pull up a menu on your computer you can choise a picture from your computer and post it to the page. be aware the picture can not be to big if you see the max attachment size is 512kb so for me I have to take my pictures and resize them to 40% of what I take the picture at.

go slow and it should work out fine. love to see some shouts of your xj650 I had a 82 xv750 virago a few years ago loved the bike found I don't like shaft drive no play in it. your either on it or off it the gas I mean.

Use Photobucket and then paste the IMG links they provide for photos in your posts. Easy as pie. Makes it easy to link the same photo again in another post here or on another forum.

Yet another XJ!

Hope you get the pics figured out... You could alwayt just upload them using the "Additional Options" link below the text screen, then click the "Browse.." button, and select the file from your computer, also, if you need more than one pic uploaded click "(more attachments)".

But there are limitations to that method. Still better to get a photobucket account IMO.

Hallo again, back after a heavy stint at work.
But managed to do a bit on the 650
these photos are as at last night 16th June
EASE,,no will not be using the small tacho,,its not illuminated and anyway its too small for an old fart like me to see easily will fit the original big one

I have a xj650 myself I been wanting to post pictures of it but I never seem to get around to it.
Dig the bikes though I thought I was the only one wanting to cafe a xj650.

I usually look for xj's xs's or people in NC on the memeber introduction forum. Glad to see yet anotherXj in here.
