...I think D.I. stands for Do It!
Hi everyone, name's Paul and I live in Omaha, NE. Been checking out the site for a while and finally decided to join. The vibe is seems cool and there are definitely some sweet bikes on here. Myself, I've been riding for about 10 years and currently have 3 bikes: 2005 Kawi ZX6RR track bike, 1980 KZ440B and 1966 CB160. Bought the KZ on cl a couple of years ago finished and just did a few maintenance items: chain, sprockets, shoes, and added signals. The guy who owned it prior to the person I bought if from did all the work. When I saw it I couldn't resist.
I love riding the KZ but want the satisfaction of having done the work myself so I recently bought a 66 CB160 for a cafe project. I don't have much mechanical knowledge but I've been trying to learn as I go. So far I've rebuilt the carbs, put on new brake shoes, new cables, put on clubmans and threaded the control wiring. It runs good but the suspension is crap. Rebuilt forks and new shocks are next. So far it's been pretty smooth but I know issues will come up where I'll be looking for advice.
Also, hope to meet some other members who live in my area that into these types of bikes and go riding. I've seen a few vintage or cafe bikes around but very few compared to cruisers or sport bikes.
