Hi all! I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself and the new scooter. I'm from Michigan, and just "picked up" the 1973 CL175 you see below. The bike was bought new in 1973 by my grandparents for my mom, who has had it ever since. It's been sitting for the past 8 years, and I hope to get her going again and add a few cafe-style updates as I go. The bike has 4464 original miles on it as it sits, and it's still on the original tires (I don't know if that's a good thing or just plain scary).
Current plans are:
Get it running.
Ride it.
Add drag bars, new tires, lower it a bit, and clean up the lighting by adding a smaller taillight and removing the turn signals.
Ride it more.
Next winter, maybe I'll tear it all down and clean up the rust and repaint everything. For now, I just want to get it on the road.
