Hi. First bike I've ever owned. I now have all the safety gear. Got my permit yesterday. And start the motorcycle safety course next week.

The bike is in good shape, however I haven't even started it (so here's hoping).

Eventually, I'm hoping to get lower bars, a cafe style seat and eliminate the rear fender. I also just purchased headers from a member here, which reroutes both exhausts to the clutch side.

welcome, tis a fine looking bike, glad to see you bought riding gear too :)

what kind of riding gear did you buy ? full face helmet, armored jacket, boots, riding gloves ?
 
I'm assuming you got Scrambler pipes from a CL... bike. Surprisingly though, even bike that have the same engine size CB350/CL350 are jetted differently between the CB and CL models. Not drastically but are different nevertheless. CB's are jetted bigger then the Scrambler(CL) models to more power at the higher end of the rpms and the Scramblers were setup to have more torque in the lower end for going offroad. Just a heads up incase you notice a change after you install those pipes. The pipes might be more restrictive then your stockers.

As for the headers/muffer, I bought these. If they work. Cool. If not, guess I'm out $50

tis good looking gear you have too, does the jacket have a built in spine protector ? ifn not than i recommend one :) i use a dianese one that fits under my jacket :)
 
Nice ride! That's a '73 right? Looks pretty clean. The PO must not have rode it in the nasty winters up there.

The pipes should work fine. There was no difference in jetting between the CBs and CLs on the 450s, but those mufflers are not stock. I'm guessing they have less restriction than the stock muffler, but the carbs run a little rich in the stock configuration anyway. If it does end up running lean, which I doubt it will, the jets are super easy to change on these bike. You don't have to remove carbs, hell, there aren't even any screws to take out!

I was thinking about losing the mufflers and running a setup like Troybilt did on his 360. I may still end up going that route.

I live in South Mpls and work all over the metro. I assume you will be checkin gout the bearded lady this weekend?
 
Hoping to check out the Bearded Lady motorcycle show this weekend. But I have MSF courses, so I don't know how much I'll be able to make.
