New to forum - XV920 Cafe Racer

Hey everyone just found this forum and a couple threads about some Yamaha XV Cafe racers with some good info. on them.

My name is Andrew and I have a low mileage 1983 Yamaha XV 920 that a friend of mine gave me when he moved out of state. Haven't done anything with it for a year or so and I thought I might sell my enduro to get the funds to build it up. I'd like to do something similar to the guy from the Netherlands associated with Zero Engineering who cafe'd the XV 750 for those that are familiar with the bike, with a few minor differences; possibly an underseat exhaust to fill in the empty space between the seat and tire, and possibly have a spare seat made for a passenger to ride along on occasion. I'd also read somewhere of someone putting forks from a 2000'ish GSXR 1000 on either a 750 or 920 as to have a large front disc so I'll probably look into that. I like the look of naked bikes, and I'm a young guy so I am partial to some of the newer bike designs such as the contemporary underseat exhaust routes.

As I haven't sold my enduro yet I haven't really started on this project, but I am glad to have found this forum and hope to get some good ideas from you guys and add my 2 cents where I can. Good to be here

Andrew.

Welcome to the madness Andrew!

2 questions - Where are you located and do you have any pics of the scoot?

Thanks!

I'm near Fresno, California.

I don't have pics of the XV right now, it is stored at a friends house in Fresno. Next time I'm over there I'll try to get a couple pics.

I do have pictures of the enduro however. It's a 1987 XL600r. If anyone is interested in taking it off my hands and supporting the cause for my cafe. ;D
