Hi,
I have a 82 CX500C that I am going to Cafe. I have had parts coming in since January. Clubman bars, speedo, tac, water temp gauge, pods.
I have been active over in the CX forum.
I have 3 other CX's 2 fully dressed thai I am fixing up to sell and my wife's bike.
My wife took a weekend long class in Aug. and got her motorcycle license. She is to light for the Goldwing and I got her a CX500. I started working on it and decided that I liked them( some aspects Blow!!)
Plus withe three other bikes I get to liberate the best parts for the cafe bike
Now this bike is going to be different than any thing that I have see before (but probably in 24 hours there will be just as many pics showing me what I have not seen before )
Engineers In there wisdom put the anti-freeze overflow tank wedged between the motor and frame. You need to drop the engine to remove the tank.
What I am going to do is relocate the tank to the spot where the air box was.
Not vary interesting... but wait there's more.
Inspiration for the new tank was from a water level sight gauge off a commercial boiler from the 50's.
What it is is a clear Plexiglas tube with aluminum caps with gaskets with three brass rods holding it clamped together.
now in each cap are ten LED's the five inner ones are ultraviolet and the five outer ones are bright white. But wait....There is more.
I could not stop there what I did was bought a battery powered aerator for an aquarium and bought the largest Amp output cig lighter plug in voltage adapter. I cut in to the adapter got rid of any extra plastic soldered on longer 12ga leads and presto A bubbling Flux capacitor that glows green.
I will post pics soon
