New/used engine swap....flush without total rebuild?

I just picked up a another 650 motor for my Cafe project...I blew up the camshaft in my previous engine about a week ago and decided to grab another complete engine. Engine has good compression, pan and crankcase/inside looks clean but its a little dusty on the inside. What do you guys do besides just running it and changing the oil out a few hundred miles? Anything besides just an oil flush? I really dont want to go through and take the heads and jugs off to tear this sucker down as it already turns over easily and with good compression/nothing visibly worn.

Thanks

I'm no expert, however I recently acquired two 750's, compression was great and turned over like a champ, when I did pull the jugs #3 piston had a frozen ring or at least really stuck, just saying.

its a little dusty on the inside.
Inside where? Good to know what has been exposed to the elements... I have been known to get a couple gallons of kerosene and fill the crankcase , swoosh it around and drain it a few times.

dont fix it when it's not broken.

oil consumption, color of exhaust smoke and compression are perfect indicators.

After sitting in a corn crib for 20 years. I just changed the oil in mine. rode her a year and a half, before needing any engine work. And even then it was cause sparkplug threads blew out. nothing really mechanical.
I vote ride her...she might be just fine. fix her when she needs fixed.

Were it me, I'd put fresh oil in, put ten miles on it, then change the oil/filter and see what's what. If it looks good do it again in a few hundred miles.

Thats what the plan is. Got oil in it today and started her up and got it riding. I figure ill change the oil again before I go on my 4th of July lake trip just to be sure. I've just been stressing too hard over it lately since I snapped the cam in the other motor I had last week.
