Hey guys, I've been lurking here for a grip, decided to register and get some input.
I picked up a supposedly rare 74 CL200 (I say supposedly because I have owned 2 of them, last one cost me $30, this one was a whopping $100), and have decided to build it into a driver since gas prices suck.
At first, I was thinking Cafe, but I'm wanting to go outside the box and get back to the Scrambler's roots, so I'm considering making it into a motard. Problem is, no one has ever really done a motard style bike much older than 80ish that I have seen, that leaves me with the issue of not being able to steal everyone elses ideas, which is what I would prefer to do.
I like to keep stuff period (building my soon to be wife a 65 mustang that will look like it fell off a road course in 1965), so if I can pull it off, the bike will look like the what if the motard craze had hit in 74. Worst case, I end up with an ugly pile that still knocks down heavy gas mileage and I ride it till the wheels fall off.
Anywho, here is the victim...
