I'm a newbie to motorcycles and to cafe's. I just picked up several yamaha's and find when I do a search for anything cafe related I end up on do the ton, so to me this seemed like a good place to make some connections, and learn. I'm looking for some inspiration so I'll be lurking around.

In the past month I've picked up two mostly complete yamaha xs400's (400e's I beleive 1978's) and one TX500. My plan is to use the tx 500 because I actually have ownership for it, I'm aware the tx500 has some issues so I guess we will see.

Any advice please don't hesitate to let me know, I've been having trouble sleeping at night the past week I'm so excited

The 500 is a crazy bike. My buddy has one that will get the cafe treatment at some point. It seems that they are quite popular in Europe for racing. Not much love for them in the states, but apparently if youre ok with, doing the work and dropping some coin they can be made into seriously quick rides.
Welcome to DTT and Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

If you plan on taking apart the 500 engine, find a new cam chain master link now. I had a lot of trouble sourcing it.

Also Mikesxs.com has a lot of parts for the xs650 that were also used on the TX/XS500s (Brake kits, petcock kits, etc.)
