Newest member and my first 73 tx650 cafe project

Just wanna introduce myself to this forum. Just acquired this 73 TX650 a few days ago. My 1st bike was a 01' CBR but sold that one so i can get this. Previous owner had put 2 new mikuni carbs, New tires (1 season), custom seat, kick start only, rebuild brakes/pads, chrome kit, 2 to 1 exhaust, front lowered about 2" and was recently tuned by Ace Motorcycle & Scooter in Chicago. Runs smooth and sound good. I will probably be posting alot of questions here coz this will be my project bike. But thanks for looking.

Welcome to the madness man. There is a couple TX's around, the most notable (from the top of my head is JRK's. He does powder coating up your way.

Yah ive ordered parts from there already. got the clubman bars, new 2 to 1 throttle cable, throttle sleeve, and some grips. but i dont like dimensions of Mikexs clubman bar. So i got another set from ebay. will post pics soon.
 
Welcome to the Forum. Glad to see another XS on the site! I'm just starting a cafe build on a '79 Standard. Although I love the folks on this site....and they are the best for all around advice......you may want to also check out www.xs650.com/forum This is a site dedicated exclusively to the XS650. There are great folks there, also!

Thanks. Yes im on xs650.com quite frequently. The bike is in the shop right now getting the carbs tuned. but i have alot to learn still and big plans for it. I will keep you guys informed.
 
Update:


Have new mirrors/clubman bars/visor. So far i changed out and put a new 2 to 1 throttle cable and clutch cable. Carbs have been tuned and new battery.
