ive fallen in love with the BCR stuff. I think their lines are the best going for the look i want, mainly the armadillo tank and shorty seat/tail. problem is, they are way out of my price range.

so is there a more affordable alternative that has the look similar to the armadillo tank? i know BCR says that tank is a specific design they have....

this is exactly the proportions i am looking for on my CB400:

Not really man. Some of the old small cc italian bikes had sorta similar tanks but your still looking at decent money for a really nice one. Look for Benelli fuel tanks. As far as the seat check out roc city.

Someone is selling a bunch of Benelli tank and seat combos (new old stock) over on caferacer.net.

Might be worth looking into.

I know I wasn't asked... but the materials used in those tanks are far inferior to what benjie uses. I'd fathom a guess that a well placed blow with a cheap plastic mallet would go right through those tanks. 3oz per foot total glass material in the tank is way too thin, esp when using polyester or vinyl, and mat, my seats are thicker, and you don't fill them with GAS

I believe he was looking for a cheap alternative with a similar look. That is what I gave.

I am in no way bagging on you, but $400 is cheap? Geez, Good thing I gotta stay with the tank I have. That's almost more than I paid for my bike.

I think airtech makes a similar tank to the continental tank. their stuff is better. I like the cb 500t tank. I too love Benji's work and I felt like the cb 500t tank was a close match. The knee dents could be more noticeable than they are now but that can be done.

Compared to $800+ for BCR. In no way is this cheap. I had a hard time justifying it myself as it was the single most expensive purchase for my bike

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check that out.
