No weld under-seat tray...

I made this under seat tray today for my battery and other electronics. I used a piece of .090 6061 aluminum and cut it to fit and used rubber coated SS clamps and SS allen head bolts to secure it. Simple but I think it should do the trick, I still need to make a battery box though.

Yup - those P clamps are very handy. Only thing I'd suggest is to flip the bolts over for a cleaner look.

I picked some up at Lowes, they had sizes from 3/8" to 1".

Thanks for the info. I've been looking for some to make a small supports for my soft teardrop saddle bags on my Nighthawk and those would be perfect to attach the bracket to the sissybar.

I know this thread is kind of dead. Trying to get and idea on how to hide my electronics and find this thread with search. Is there any issue with back tire hitting tray? I have seen post where this can be an issue.

See how much travel your rear shocks have (ie: measure how much of the shock rod is showing as a worst case scenario) and add that to the top of your tire.

That's what he has on them, it was recommended he turn them around so the button head was underneath the pan. But you would have known that if you read the post or looked at the pics. :-\

CJ, find out how much travel your shocks have, then remove them and lift the wheel that amount to see where it will be at full compression.

my point is that the person who you're attempting to chastise for not having noticed that it was suggested that the buttonhead allen bolts be turned upside down was in fact the person who offered that suggestion. it was pretty funny.

The button heads were the first thing I noticed on that pan. I try to use them every where possible on my builds. Pricey little bitches though.

Yup - that's me. The Dunce. I'll go to confession today and ask for forgiveness. It's so fucking clear that these are indeed button head allen bolts and I should have spent more time analyzing the photograph before making the suggestion 30 months ago.

FWIW I didn't steal his cookie, but I did piss in his cornflakes, so maybe he has a right to think I'm an idiot.
