That is quite cheap, usually 89 plus shipping. Does anybody have a set of these on? I wonder why it doesn't say 1973 CL350, is it different mounting than those listed? ...hmmmm ???

nope.. should fit ok. DrJ has a set on his cb350, and I put on a set for Martin on my old cb350.

Its just that UR gonna have to take off the old rubber ring in the "eye" of the OEM shock and use it on the new shorty shock for it to fit properly.

It is pretty cheap..

here you go...
You will most likely need to pull this rubber ring off.
You can use some WD-40 and it pops out, then stick it in the new shock.

I just had to do that with the shocks on my seca (swap the sleeves outa the bushings for new ones in the Harley holes).

I couldn't get them to pop out, so I used some silicone lube (ran outa dubya-dee) and used 2 different sized sockets (one slightly larger than the rubber, and one slightly larger than the metal sleeve) and squeezed em in a vice till I heard a rubbery "Boing". New ones may need to be pressed in with a vice too.

Oh, the bushings in the Yamaha / Harley were tapered, I'm not sure if the hondas are... If they aren't then ignore this message. ;D

Heres a pic of my 350 with those shorties. They actually don't work as well as the stock ones since the travel is shorter.

Its pretty bad-ass eh?...
Its a shame DrJ, I havent seen you so far on the cb350 this season!

looks nice J....is the front lowered as well?

Yup, the front is lowered by 1.5", about the same amount as the rear. Don't fret Noel, I should have it running by the July 7 Mods vs. Rockers meet.

Closer to the ground so it doesn't hurt so much when you fall off.

I think it's mostly for the look, although someone will tell you you're lowering your centre of gravity blah blah blah. When you're dragging their knees turning into Tim Hortons then you should think about things like centres of gravity ;)

whats the benefit of lowering the bike?

I only lowered mine about an inch front and back... I noticed (and my passenger noticed) that I'm leaning a bit more now when I turn (unless it's all in my head - but it was in hers too i guess... could also be confidence in the new rubber 8)).

Also, I hear that if you lower the front just a tad more than the back you get a more sporty feel. A local guy who used to work as a mechanic on a yamaha race team said they would lower the front ends on all of their bikes for better handling.

I can't vouch for this yet, though, because I still have clubmans, so I am only able to lower the front end an inch.

*Edit: some of the race guys over on caferacer.net told me to lower the front the width of a penny at a time to be careful... seems like horseshit but maybe on a track it'd make a huge difference.

well for one thing, lowering the bike makes it easier for guys who are only 4 feet tall to put both feet flat on the ground ;D
