Oil Change? Service?

Okey fellas!
Im new to the scene and got my first motorcycle two weeks ago.
Its an old Moto Guzzi 350 GT (the last of the 350s) 91'
The bike was not serviced since 2006 but it starts and runs "ok" (right cylinder valve hits the piston i think) only on changed plugs and battery.

I am wondering what kind of oil should I put in, do I have to change the oil filter (where the fuck is it) and yeah now I know what it is to have such a rare motorcycle.
Its not a V35 but a 350 GT its not included in 99% of the oil/spark plugs catalogs.
Still on the todo list is a carbs clean and sync and brake fluid change
I am starting the cafe treatment soon ofc.

Thanks

Nice.
First I would address that valve, that's not really a "oh I think it's hitting no big deal" kind of thing. More of a "catastrophic failure waiting to happen" kind of thing IMO.

Hm, you must be a strange dude. I've always known motoguzzi guys to have their heads on sideways. *Ba dum ching*

Seriously though, cool looking cycle. Sonic is right though, I would be more concerned about the touching valve. When valves and pistons play tag horrible things happen. What makes you think they're touching? Quick and easy way to see is get yourself a penlight, pull the spark plug out and look at the piston face. You'll want the piston a ways down the bore so you can see the majority of it. You'll be able to tell real fast if they were touching, if they are.. You're in for more than a carb sync and a fluid change.

Allright fellas I was kida worried as well but a mechanic assured me that i was making problems up.
The engine only works rough when cold but after 3-4 min when the oil properly spreads it softens up. Tho I dont know why i still think one cylinder is not ok. The bike is on around 23000km and for a guzzi thats nothing. I must give it a propper look though.

Trying not to sound harsh, but fer fuck sake, get a service manual instead of asking how to change the fucking oil. Sheesh!

Seriously, basic maintenance questions are answered from a service manual. It's always the best and first advice to get the service manual. If you can't find one downloadable on-line, look on eBay and Amazon to see if you can find a used copy.

Well mate that's what I am trying to do but, I've found only one and its in italian and its for a 3-4 year older model then mine. The thing is that this bike is not that common.

May seem silly but...Here is the first place I would try for a manual.

Well that's not an option, here in Bulgaria guzzi's are kind of an exotic lol

That's a video of the bike, i took it out for a spin. It was pretty warmed up by the time the video was shot.

Crap. I was afraid of that.
Yes, I have tried to use foreign language manuals before. Google translate can help, but it's damned cumbersome. :)

haha :D tried that as well, by exotic I mean only 1 out of 20 motorcyclists have ever heard the brand :D
Though I'm managing with a bunch of Italian manuals.

btw I am back from the garage, been putting new turn signals (cant pass the road test without them)
and decided to make a quick video of the sound the engine makes, should I be worried (cold start btw/7 year old oil)

Does it make more noise when it's cold? I didn't hear anything that that sounded out of the ordinary.

I knew of a Harley once that made a terrible racket when cold. The piston was hitting the head, but when it warmed up, the cylinder grew enough taller from thermal expansion, that the noise went away.

Thats the noise when its cold! I feel kinda relieved because a mate who has owned a guzzi assured me that they click bang and rattle a bit more then your ordinary twin. So I will just proceed with the work. Will update when I change the oil and clean the carbs!
