Oil Temps?

Anyone have an idea of oil temps in the sump?

I'm currently looking at some different external pumps and need to know the temp rating I should be investigating.

No offense intended, but I'd prefer hard data or personal experience over opinion and conjecture on this one.

Not directly, but I am in a business that does frequent oil samples and recommendations. I do not do the lab work, I only make recommendations.

But oil over 220F degrees is in danger of breaking down. Most systems keep oil under that....I assume if over 200 is bad for cars and trucks, and large rotating machinery, , it can't be any better for Motorcycles.

This is true of synthetics and dino oils. the synthetics handle it a little better, but still break down.

I would never run oil over 250 F deg. and would shoot for keeping it under 200 def F.

So shoot for under 100 C. and you would be good. If you are putting a better pump on, I'd make sure to include some sort of cooler too.

So a pump rated up to 300 deg F would be fine.
