Opened a can of worms CB360

I’m having bizarre issues with my cb360 that I built and have had for 15 year. I messed around with my timing to try and fix a slight sputter at 8k rpm. Then lost spark on the left. After some messing around I managed to lose spark on both sides. Then I fried my Pamco ei testing it. I put my og points in and have no spark. I have spark when I test the coils directly with a lead to the battery.

I liked the Pamco unit because it has an e-advancer unit unlike other makes.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Check your kill switch wire or your 12v hot to the coils. Those should be the only common wiring for both coils.

Thanks. I’ve checked wiring through the entire system. Unless there’s phantom 12v somewhere, I do t think that’s the issue.

Most common cause's for no spark 360 with points
1. low battery voltage (left side stops sparking first)
2. points gap not set properly (often too wide and set at wrong position, ~90 degrees after TDC)
3. points wires not fitted correctly (insulators in wrong places or missing)
4 points wires shorting on points cover (very common if gasket is missing, I tape inside cover as well)
