painting carbs...

I'm about to rebuild my carbs, and I want them to look a lil' more badass. I really like the look of stock chevy carbs. You know that bronze color?

Thought it would be cool to paint the carbs on my bike a similar color. Some friends say it's no problem, and others are telling me to steer away from spray painting my carbs.

Have any of you guys painted yer carbs before? If so, thoughts? Advise?

Thanks!

No paint on carbs. Too much of a risk of plugging something up, in my opinion. You can probably get them anodized, though.

I painted mine once upon a time. It didn't clog anything up, but the gas ended up eating away the paint due to some spillage, some overflow, it got chipped from taking the carbs on and off to jet, etc.
I wouldn't do it again.

Gas doesnt effect the powdercoat does it? Tell me im wrong if I am please. Ive seen a guy on ebay who restores old carbs and powdercoats them with a really nice black crinkle finish.

Thought it was pretty dope if you ask me.

I know it would be tons of work, and run the risk of cloging something. But if done right, I think the pay off would be worth it... crinkle finish would look great!

I've done it with no issues...I used Eastwood Carb paint (yes they have the gold, too).
