Part Identification help - rear engine damage

Hey guys, just looking to get some help to identify a part. Can't tell if it's even something I can even replace outside of major repair.

Basically, chain slipped off and took part of the sprocket cover with it. top screw was badly bent and bottom screw was ripped right off the back of the engine. I have been able to find a new sprocket cover, but trying to identify the part that broke off the engine though. Any help appreciated.

bike is a 1978, cb750k

I was able to find the metal that tore off, could possibly weld it back on. not sure yet. big hassle regardless. had new chain and sprockets coming on tues because I thought they were needing to be replace... few days shy of completely avoiding this.

It looks like a place where the cover would have bolted to the engine. You may be able to get by with out it if there are several other places where it bolts to the engine.
