I'm pretty sure it's Ewan McGregor. He's got at least a few bikes. I've seen him on a BSA as well, and I think he did a documentary about adventure riding, perhaps on a Beemer or KTM or something?

Yes, Ewan McGregor it is. And "Long Way Round" is the documentary series about a 22K+ miles trip that he and a friend took.

it is, and he does, and the docu is called The Long Way Round. I think he is on a Beemer in the docu.

On "Long Way Round" Ewan and Charlie Boorman rode from UK to the east end of Russia. flew across the narrowest point of the pacific to alaska then rode across canada and the us to NYC.. then flew the shortest distance across the Atlantic to UK.
They were on BMW R1200GS's.

Then on "Long Way Down" they rode from the Top of Scotland To Cape Town South Africa. again on BMW R1200GS's.


Watch them.. it's worth it.

I don't care what any armchair commentator on some other site may say, support crew or not those two actually did it.
I bought the box set with Round, Down and Dakar. All of them are worth it even if McGreggor's unfortunate wife forced the issue and tagged along for part of the second one.

Charlie Boorman manned up and raced Dakar. Not bad for some English actor I'd never heard of before. The other thing I noticed was that the changes in Mr.Boorman are quite evident from the first episode of 'Round to the end of Down after having done his bit at Dakar. He went from pudgy mamas boy to pretty tough looking. I gotta respect someone that shows that much change.....

I make a point to watch some long way every couple of months.. I felt for Charley at the end of down when ev or whatever her name is and Charley was practicaly DYING to see his family. THEN they bring in ewans dad lol.. poor charley lmao


And ya Charley's skill was immensly better on down than round.
