looking to widen out my 76 kz in the rear so I am looking for a 40 spoke hoop maybe a 3.5 or 4 inch width 18 also were to get the spokes for this conversion. I like the drum brake setup it just makes the bike a little cleaner on the handle bar. can a guy use a drag specialties rim or do you know of a more inexpensive route. thanks guys

am I stupid or does nobody know where to get a 18x4 40 spoke wheel that will fit on a 76 kz400 rear hub. I keep reading about wm4 or something like that where do you guys go to buy them. thanks. starting to think I should just build Harley bobbers instead atleast those guys will tell you where to look for stuff

Maybe you are and maybe you should. An 18/3.5 will show up on eBay now and then.
If you done any research you would know about Buchanan's.

WM4 is not the same as 4.00" rim. Wm sizes are
WM0 1.4"
WM1 1.6"
WM2 1.85"
WM3 2.15
WM4 2.50
WM5 2.75

I think that WM sizes stopped somewhere around there but modern rims kept on going.

WM4 in an 18" would be easy but I'd be surprised if there were any/many 18 x 4.00 rims around. 40 spoke are a little less common that 36 spoke I believe.

Why so side on a small bike? That doesn't make a lot of sense. I'd expect WM2 front and WM3 rear would work nicely or maybe up one size to WM3/4.

In "76 there was the KZ, 400,750 and 900. Poster might be referring to the 900 since a hardley
was referenced.

4.25 inch 40 spoke is easy, and damned expensive, Here is your best bet, happy hunting... http://www.jpcycles.com/motorcycle-rims

thanks buchanans has exactly what I am looking for. prices aren't too bad especially if you've ever upgraded a hd before. I build old metric bobbers for a hobby cause I can do them quick and fairly inexpensive compared to a big v-twin. I have a little cm200t I built last year and it turned into a great little bobber and fun to cruise the neighbor hood on. now its time to hang it on the wall for deco until the 4 year old nephew can ride it.
