Project Number... 4? 5?... Mini-Bob

Druro

Noel... stay outta my profile... wanker.
So, I splurged with my billions and bought LoveHertz's spare CB360 (as a favor :P )

Anyway, here is a picture of when it got home.

Only really missing a set of carbs... plus some minor bits.

So, we all go to milton, and I happen to get some bits... and the result it this:

Introducing Project Mini-Bob

So, I'm gonna need to sort out the hardtail aspect of this, which will probably be a set of struts to start. I will eventually give this a REAL hardtail. Also need to start sorting out the seat/tank. Also giving serious consideration to a jockey shift setup. Should be an interesting machine when i'm done.

thank you druro, i didn't know it was a favor.. ahahah i thought you just wanted parts!!! but yes, it helped v.muchso. and burrto for you!

You crazy man! You've got it BAD!!! ;D

Speaking of "got it bad", I've got your Project 5... 6... 7... for ya!

How about stuffing a FZR600 engine in the CB350 frame?? It's all here. Engine, mounts, carbs, air box, electrics, gauges, switch gear, etc.

Goin' cheap?? :o :o

Ha, ha! You know ya wanna!! ;D ;D

sooo... whats going on with this one Druro?..
Any new progress?..

Not much at all... got the winter blahs... but i hope to work on the struts and seat tomorrow... figure that stuff out....

Well, between the secret project and this, i've been busy.

First I built a seat outta 1/8" steel with a fender off a CB750. I added an aftermarket Model T Taillight and some turn signals (cause I like having signals for dumb ass drivers) I've also got all the wires tucked away nicely with all the required electrics... just need a battery.

It's hard to see in the second photo, but there is a switch for the lights... Low-Off-High... again, for dumb ass drivers on the road. One thing I'm not happy with is the seat pad that I have there... Thinking about a thin pieces of foam and simple leather cover.

Here are the completed bars with all controls. I added 2 micro switches into the housing that I included, one for horn, one for turns.

Yes... it's missing a clutch... and that's how that will stay. Busy trying to fab a foot clutch, but it's proving to be a bit tough. I expect that i'll end up build 2-3 different versions of the foot control to get it right.

oh, and an overall pic.

kinda crappy, but what you going to do.

Tits. I've been looking for a good bobber build to follow to get some ideas. I'm planning a bobber for next winter... post lots of pictures-- especially when you do the hardtail! Looking forward to this one!

Thanks for the compliments.

Here is a bit more progress on the jockey shifter. This is the assembly for the foot clutch... bit bodged at this point, but funtional. There is a tight clearance between the shifter and the clutch, but it works.

Mounted with shifter (the actual hand shifter is tomorrow's job.
