I'm liking the seat man. Cool build so far. Did you get that brake light from DCC? Think it's the same one I'm looking at for my 750.

Thanks, yeah that's the same light from DCC. I might end up fixing it to my Guzzi though.
 
Dropped the spokes at a shop the guys have been recommending to chrome the spokes and shocks.

Took the wheels and some other parts to repaint at the shop next door.

I'll post some pics once all that is ready.
In the meantime i still can't find time to finish working on the frame / swingarm :-\
 
I'm a 78 550k owner. Just started following this build. if you need any tips feel feel to ask, I've done pretty much everything your doing to mine so far. Except for the clutch. Which I'm interested in seeing a step by strep, ginie pig ;) What carb version do you have, PD? Just a warning the screws that come with that tail light rust out pretty quickly. Get new one before you install, will save you some headaches later. You buy actual K+N's or the dcc pods? Looks like I have the same ones and have had some problems (fitment and durability) just to warn you. If I could turn back time and had nice side covers I would have kept the OE air box. Would have saved me weeks of frustration until I figured it out. Put a pic of all your engine gaskets up, i'll see if I can spot anything missing, kits for these are usually missing something (cost me 4 weeks shipping/waiting time ARGGHHHH!!!). You get new rings? Anyways i'll follow and help if I can.

I've got the keihin carbs. The pods are from DCC.

But maybe you can see where I stumbled and not hit the same bumps. Looks like your bike is gonna be much "prettier" than mine haha. Mine is pretty brat styled, I tried to improve all the functions that I could and not worry to much about the looks yet. 530 chain, new brakes, dropped the gauges (single 2.5 speedo), pods, rebuilt engine n carbs. still have a bunch of things I would like to do and need to do but am more concerned with driving it daily. im in a temperate climate, year round driving. Drill that front rotor while you've got it off!
