Don't know how valuable stock exhaust is on your side of the pond, but it's pretty hard to find a decent set here. If you want flat black, I'd suggest selling off the originals and buying some chambers. I had some nice black Wirges chambers on my GT380, and they were pretty cheap, plus added power.

two smoker, the chrome is chipping pretty bad on the left pipes at the rear. they actually look to be in better condition in the pics then they really are. However, I would sell/trade my stock pipes for a set of chambers in a heartbeat. Im doin this bike on the cheap, so selling mine to pay for chambers is a great idea. If you have any info on where i could track down a set I would be grateful, im in Orlando Florida btw.

well, its been way to long for an update. but here it is. Motor is all back together after the full gasket replacements, timing adjusted to spec and motor back in the frame. Took about 200 kick but finally after alittle starter fluid she fired right up!!! I couldn't resist a spin around the block, a very slow spin seeing how I have no brakes... anyhow still not road ready yet but it sure feels nice to see, hear and smell that little 2 stroke bumpin away. Vid is short but sweet, enjoy!

If you're having a hard time finding brake shoes and brake cables, I have some off my bike that you can have for shipping. They are used, but they would at least get you through until you can find some new ones. It has to be better than no brakes at all.
That blue is pretty kickin' too. Keep at it man. It's always nice to see someone take a project in their own direction.

Appreciate it Erskine, Ive grown up around tools thanks to my dad so i'm sure that helps alittle, ive just never tore down a bike like this and put it back together. Im not gonna lie, I was kinda surprised that it runs too! Haha. Anyhow Thanks again and hopefully I can post again sooner than later.

Good points Cobra. I had a ratty incomplete GT750 and bought another for spares. It was too good to trash, so I rebuilt that and for the next GT project I started with a motor and then got a frame and so it went. I call it the installment plan.
I hate to radically modify a really clean original bike, but if it's a basket case those rules do not apply.

I want to use a bottle of JD as my 2 stroke oil tank, anyone seen this set up before? Im looking for methods to mount and pipe the bottle in to the 3/8ths clear tube goin to my oil pump. heres the bottle that i want to use:

Get a bar shot dispensing top/cork thing and gut the valve, or an olive oil bottle cork and pouring spout, drill a small air hole in the bottom (now top) of the bottle. Have a look at some cheap bicycle water bottle cages that you can distort and ket the bike frame bottle holder mounts for bikes that dont have the lugs on the down tubes, and there ya go??
