Rebel 450

A guy I work with wanted to do some maintenance on the rebel,fork seals,chain,neck bearings,etc. but being me I can't leave well enough alone,lol. Here is how she started

Completely stripped

Fabbed up a new rear seat bracket that's gonna double as art when the seat is removed.




Wheels are painted

Stator cover

Carbs rebuilt, new rear brake,and painted headlight

More to come later as parts arrive and fabbing is completed.

Interesting... you do know that a stone stock running 450 Rebel is a cult classic, and worth its weight in gold, right? 2 year only low production hot rod 450. Lisa still misses hers and it died over a decade ago, the guy that bought it for $100 put almost $2K into it and it appraises out close to $8K these days... That said, I wanted so badly to cut up her bike and make it look decent...

Update.. Ok here it is for now. Just got back from the shake down run,lol. Cold,dark and raining but still took her out. I live on a gravel road to so got a little dirty. I'll get some more pics of it out in the daylight next. Still need to paint the clutch cover but other than that it's good to go.

That was the first thought as well until his wife found out lol.. You know the rest of the story..... It rides real nice loving the quarter turn throttle. Need to shim the needles abit because of the pods. Turns heads for sure though lol
