Replace engine exhaust stud with allen bolts?

Been Around the Block
I've remove my exhaust studs from my kz750 engine and I was thinking of just using allen bolts instead of these exhaust studs. Bad idea? I'm guess these bolts need to be pretty strong and I'm thinking Home Depot allen bolts would be a bad idea. Any idea where I can source these? Look to replace the carb boot screws as well.

thanks

Stainless steel would be a decent option and they don't actually have to be all that strong. Any steel would be fine, really. Make sure you use some anti-seize compound when putting them in. Aluminum and stainless steel don't always play too well together.

Why remove the stock studs though? Are they damaged?

Actually, you're probably better off with the studs. Less strain on the aluminum threads. Many people switch TO studs not from.

I put Stainless nuts on my stock exhaust studs. Should look a little nicer, but keeps the studs stock.

As previously said, better to wear out the stud, then to wear out the head threads.

Maybe Stainless Studs? Haven't seen them though...

Had to look:
