Question for you guys. I recently bout a '73 CB750. I go tit from a guy who just didn't take care of it. No air filters- peices of t shirt (with holes) acteding as the air filters- for one example. The motor runs fine BUT I woul dlike to take it apart and rebuild it and clean everything out. Here is the question- the cooling fins around the cylinders- some are missing or broken or bent. Can I just buy new fins and have the old cylinders pressed back in?

i do not see why you would but i would get the jugs re honed... why do all that BS... cut down the broken fins then grind them smooth to make they look like the belong... do the same on the other side so it matches... a few broken fins is not going to cause that little bike to over heat!

+1 on what Joe said, if they're not too bad grind them down a little and match up the other side. If you want a cool look, then clean and paint the jugs before you grind them down...a nice contrast between the paint and the bare aluminum.
If things are too bad you can find these replacements on eBay pretty easily. Any year from 1968 through 77 should fit fine. CB750 A, F or K should all be the same. This is a great engine, kind of the Chevy 350 V8 of the cafe world, there are thousands of them rotting away waiting for someone to bring them back to life. Plenty of parts available, particularly if you're a good scrounge. Good luck....we're here to help.
