Shifter arm for custom rear sets ?

Anyone have a link to where I can buy a Shifter arm that will mount on my existing shifter? Need this to hook my new rearset linkage to. Cheaper the better.

Or if you are really cheap like me, you take your existing shift lever and cut off the lever and weld on 1.5" or so of 1/2 x 1/8" steel. Round off the top cut edge, throw some paint at it and you are good to go. No welder? grab one from FFTP.

I ended up grabbing one off ebay from a newer kawasaki sport bike. $10 shipped much better than FFTP pricing.

i was fixing my quad one day and realized that the splines matched...it didnt have the bend in it like the stock 350 shift arm just flat...used ebay and got another for like 5 bucks... cut it rounded it and powdered it..good as new! lol

Is there a trick to getting the shifter arm all the way on?


My rod wiggles in and out a bit and i can't get the shifter arm on far enough to put the bolt in.

Not sure what your arm came off of ? The one i got off a newer sport bike went on without any issues.

ah. Let me clarify.


The rod that goes into the bike with the splined end wiggles in and out a bit. This is keeping me from getting the arm on it all the way so that i can tighten it with the bolt. Im guessing that shaft should not be moving so much...

Ya that sounds like a problem. Mine has a very minor amount of play shouldnt be enough to keep you from putting the arm all the way on...

You have to remove the bolt completely to get arm on.
Common problem when people try to cut corners by just loosening it (I've seen a LOT of service techs do the same thing)
You'll find brake operating arms have same thing.
Suzuki is the only manufacturer with 'custom' splines, otherwise anything from Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki will usually interchange (although some have an 'odd' bike with smaller diameters)
