Shooter CB550 Progress (pix) - Final stages (27 Jan 08)

Maybe a challenge to get two types of seat to work. Good luck.

I found the seat and cowl the most tricky and time consuming part of the project. (many cans of beer were sacrificed in the search for inspiration)

I have retained a hinged seat function but it was impossible to retain the original locking mechanism because of the width (and I did try).

Pix of how I did it posted elswhere on this site.

Naw it's not too bad actually. I have both a solo and 2-up seat setup for my cafe. Just pull the hinge pins, unplug the wires and switch em over. Takes all of 2 minutes... Used an extra seatpan to make the solo seat as carl550k mentioned above.

OH, and shooter, I'm with keeping your rear fender too. Looks great with it and it looks to be in excellent shape.

Shooter. First off, nice bike, you have done a great job. As I scrolled through the thread I see you are in Auckland, my old home town. Haven't lived there in many years but try to get back for a visit every 2 or 3 years. Are you going to the Classic meeting out at Pukekohe, should be coming up soon, and then the races at Paeroa later. Yeah, this is the best time down there, something going on every weekend it seems. John.

Hi Kiwi

I intend to go to Puke to the Classics ( do so every year) at least for part of 2 of the days

Intention is to take the Honda - its big debut. (It was a deadline I set myself some time ago)

Just need a WOF and to fix the oil leak behind the front sprocket ( seal coming today). Wiring indicators tonight.

If Honda not ready - I will take the Ducati.

Maybe see ya there - say gidday.

Hi Shooter, not this year. Wife has us going to Vegas next month, and there goes all my bike project money. I may get down that way next year to see the family, and take in the races. Hope you get the Honda ready in time, but then again nothing wrong with mounting a Duc. John.
