Should I put money into this engine? [CB500]

I acquired a trashed 73 CB500 last week and tore into the motor to see what was up. Loads of buildup and crusty-ass pistons / valves but nothing too horrifying. But when I took the cylinders off I found this:

Thats Piston #2

#1 looks like this

And 3 and 4 are the same

If you want to see the rest of my tear down so far here is the album: http://imgur.com/a/pdzFp

Should I even consider putting money into the engine with this shit all over the crank?

i wish mine looked that good when i got it.. Nothing wrong, just dirty. Clean 'er and go! Pistons looks good, as do the valves. Some light lapping might be neccesary. Just remove all the carbon build up and you're good to go. Check for play in bigends btw..
honda engines are reliable enough to say it's probably ok, but don't assume. be sure.

Well I'd say it's certainly worth spending some more time cleaning it up and checking your bearings and such.

Nothing in those images would make me stop in and of themselves.

That's not to say that there may be something else wrong that would turn that into a parts motor, but so far it looks decent...
