Sizing MCs and Calipers

Hey fellas, I have experience with custom brake setups on cars/4wds. I ran 4 wheel discs on my old jeep... I had to resize my master cylinder to accommodate the higher pressure needed with replacing the drums in the rear with big calipers. I figure the same goes for bikes. I am swapping out the rear drum on my 78 CB750K for a disc setup off of an 08 gsxr. Unfortunately I do not have the stock MC off the gsxr and truthfully I will most likely just buy the stock MC/pedal setup... but what are some of the common combinations for XX mm caliper... run a 7/8" MC... or something along those lines.

Also, is there any advantages to running a pull type brake switch over a hydraulic?

I'd appreciate any info you guys could pass along.
 
The only difference between the switches is the pull type is for mechanical brakes (drum) and the hydraulic is for hydraulic disc type systems. I wouldn't use a pull type on A wet disc system. I suppose you could argue the advantage of the pull type means 2 less places for a leak, but not if you know what you are doing.
