Smaller Battery for Kickstart

hey guys, i wanted to run a smaller battery on my xs500 since im running kickstart only. I have a battery already and wasnt sure how to set it up because the gauge of wire doesnt match the stock gauge of terminal wires? is it as simple as thinning the end of the stock cables?

So are you using an alarm battery (sealed lead acid) with the spade connectors?

Could you take a photo of the new battery's terminals and the stock harness battery wires?
