Some hand-drawn marker work from the past few years...

Bobdot

Coast to Coast
I'm scanning in some of my hand-drawn work for my digital portfolio so I figured I'd post a couple on here.

Marker pin-up portraits:

One that I actually took the time to convert to a digital file using Adobe Illustrator for a T-Shirt contest

I have a couple more full body ones, I just need a large format scanner to get them onto the computer....

Couple of moto-related renderings

Wish I put away more time to do more of this, mabye this will give me the inspiration to get back to it

Hahaha! I have that book too!

Hahaha, I was waiting for someone to recognize it! There's a good handfull of IDers on here. Still one of the best books I've ever bought.

Just finished this one up for a buddy of mine. The scan came in a little washed out but you get the general feel for it. All hand drawn and rendered using pencil, prismacolor greyscale (the whole spectrum), and Bic pen.

You get me a nice hi-res of that and I'll print it and hang it in my office (with your permission of course).

I've been toying with getting back into drawing (did it non-stop into my late teens/20's). Awesome work! Exactly the sort of aesthetic I'd want to achieve in my work.

Is that on vellum? I'm a fan of their cool grey pack too, never could make anything but a mess with the colors.

Me too, I can't find sketchbooks that I like anymore though, there used to be a company that made a nice series with a yellow cover that was nice thick and really smooth paper (great "give" for ballpoints and very little bleed) that you had a fairly good chance of finding in any Micheals, but it's discontinued now.

Nope, I've been messing with different papers for years and found this to be the best so far: http://www.pearlpaint.com/shop-Hammerhill-Ledger-Drawing-Pad_6970_6899.html

Nice, smoothe, thick paper that doesnt allow the maker to bleed out. I went over parts of that drawing at least 12 times with marker (letting each dry completely in between) and it didnt bleed a bit. I recommend it.
