Spacing between rear tire and seat/battery pan...

Hi, I tried searching for info for this and didnt find much. If someone can help me, that would be great!

Designing my seat pan and battery tray for a cafe. Would 3"s from the top of the rear tire to the bottom of the battery tray under the seat hump enough space?

This is a cb450 and Im 140 lbs.

Install your rear shocks without springs and cycle the suspension through its full range with the tire and wheel combo you plan on using and note the position of the top of the tire relative to your rear frame rails. Your tray should be higher than that...

The reason you dont see a set number is because of the amount of variables:

Tire and wheel size.
Rear shocks being used.
Swing arm swaps, etc etc.

ok thanks for the info..

Im using stock swingarm and stock shocks...

Ill look into removing the springs on the shocks as you mentioned.
