speed bleeders for calipers

How do these things work, as far as bleeding them??? do you just put the brake juice in the master cly tank and pump the brake lever until fluid comes out the other end or do you have to have a mini/mighty vac bleeding tool? What's to stop the brake fluid from coming out the bleeder when the brakes are applied? Even after all these years of owning bikes I've never bled disc brakes, I've always had a shop do it but now I need to do this.

Seriously... damn great stuff. Simply a ball bearing on a spring. Quarter turn as usual lets fluid out... but only under pressure. Once you release the brake the bearing seals and no air/fluid can back up into the caliper. Lets you bleed your system VERY easily. The only time you will need a vac is with new lines to pull fluid down to the caliper as air compresses and can not open the sprung bearing.

Basically... quarter turn... start pumping and filling... when your done snug the bleeder back up and you are done.... it's really as easy as they say it is. I use some clear fuel line on the bleeder and run it directly into my waste fluid container. No need for the their bag system.

Have them on both bikes, first thing I ordered.

Do buy direct from the site at www.speedbleeder.com so you know you are getting the right one for your application.

I got a 20cc plastic syringe with a 6" length of clear hose that I use for brake bleeding. Fill the syringe, attach to the brake nipple and push the fluid into the caliper, up the line and out the master. No fighting rising air bubbles in the lines - takes mere seconds ;D
