speed wobles

wasnt sure where to put this, im still figuring out my bike, but when i get around 55-60 if i take one hand off the bars i get some serious speed wobbles, just wanted to know if it had anything to do with my front end or just how i was riding.

Not a whole lot of info here.... Could be caused by everything from wrong tire pressure to out of adjustment forks, bent triple trees, loose axle, etc. etc...

well i havent started tearing down the front end yet so i can see where the triple tree is bent, the forks are fine so it may be tire pressure

Did you remove your front fender?

Do you have the factory Fork Brace on?

The Fender mount is also the fork brace on many bikes.

No brace, more wobbles.

Don't tear anything down yet. Lets focus on a few of the questions here. Forks don't automatically align, sometimes a few adjustments are all that's needed.

Your steering stem bearings could be rooted. Sit on the bike (stationary), grab the front brake and try to wobble the bike forwards/backwards. If the fork moves relative to the frame your bearings are gone.

Well as of now, I'm getting new clip ons, levers, since it was dropped but the wobbling was happening before it fell over in a trailer, and yeah, it has the oem front fender, ill be checking the tire pressure tonight when I get home and inspecting my forks also

Well apparently my tire pressure 28psi and the back didn't register so we assume that was the problem and my forks and triples are perfect still

Check wheel alignment, forks for straightness, wheels for out of round and out of balance, play in front or rear suspension and look at the tires to see if there is any sign of cupping.

We had an 86 (ish)GPX750 that did that whenever hands were taken off the bars at 40-60 but never a trace of a twich with hands on bars. That was a mismatch in tire tread added to twitchy steering geometry. Not unsafe but felt odd to say the least.

I plan on not running a fender, does it make that much of a difference as a fork brace? All I will have holding the forks is triple trees.

Yea my me paranoid and I guess I'll try out sitting on the bike and rocking it with the brakes on also. So far when I put air in the tires the front and rear felt significantly more stiff which that made me happy alone just for that!

I'd be paranoid too, a motorcycle is something you want running at 100%. Life and death situation.

Yes it is absolutely necessary to stop the front end from walking. What tires are on that bike? DOHC 750s were very sensitive to changes in tires. Fat tires seem to be a lot worse on those bikes than most others.

Hmm guess I'll have to fab up some sort of brace or small fender

The original Fender mount is the brace. Fender held on on most hondas by 4 rivets. Remove the rivets, the fender comes off the brace. Then just use the brace.

Depending on the bike, there are aftermarket braces too...
