Springs over upper fork tubes?

Hey guys. I've seen this quite a few times now and I like it. What's the deal with the springs over the upper tubes of the forks? I like it and would be interested in doing this on a CB200 that I'm (very slowly) working on. Is there someone who makes a kit for this? I could come up with the springs, but wondered if there was someone who sold the 'keepers' for the top and bottom...
I'm attaching a pic of a fine 350 from Analog Motorcycles. I dig this bike.

Find an ancient exposed spring fork. CB350 through end of model year 1971, BSA, Norton, Triumph, etc. Converting modern or semi-modern forks is possible, but it is a pain in the ass and done wrong will break your sliders.

Any Brit bike aftermarket shop should have the upper cups.

Easiest option? CB/CL100 fork swap, but they are pretty spindly...

Your cb200 already has springs over the forks like that now. It should anyways, they all came like that from the factory with rubber boots over them... The rubber is only there to keep crap out as there as no dust seals over the oil seals for the lowers. Depending on how you plan on riding it you could just take the rubbers off... There is not any "dust seal" that I know of that anyone makes to keep stuff out of your oil seals in this setup though... Maybe someone on here has seen something? I don't even know how it would even be possible without covering the whole spring.

Oh wow, that's great. I had no idea. Kinda feel a little embarrassed, but hey, I'm always in LEARN mode. I really appreciate it guys. The rubber boots on mine are in perfect condition, so I'll pull everything apart and take em off safely.

Thanks again!

I didn't know on 200s either... I've got a CL100 rotting away in the barn, but the smallest I tend to fool with is 450. Have a 250, but it was picked up to make a sign out of, got it running, then the transmission locked up, so...

Yes they do collect crap down in there. I just spray mine out occasionally w wd40 or whatever. To try and wash it out of there, as best I can. I have no doubts it will eventually cause premature wear of the seals. but, whatever. When I first pulled the gators on mine they had oily mud and crap trapped in there anyway, that you couldnt have washed out.
