SR250 balance shaft removal

So... in my quest to make double-digit power (haha) from my SR250 "race-bike", I have deemed the balance shaft as parasitic and it shall be removed. This will not affect crank balance as it is a different shaft altogether and is only meant to cancel out some of the first order vibrations...right? Or is this thing going to shake to pieces?

Obviously, there will be more vibration and I can deal with that as this will not be a road bike or run for very long periods of time. No charging system, total loss ignition, no lights, lightened flywheel, etc. I am familiar with balance shaft removal on the GM 3800 motors and have successfully done this, just curious as to the forum's thoughts...good, bad, or ugly. Well, would prefer not ugly ;)

Well I am splitting the cases this weekend hopefully and yanking the balance shaft. Spoke with some SR/XT folks that have done this successfully and really said it helped to rev much quicker in combination with the lightened rotor/flywheel. I'll take pictures when it self-destructs ;)
